ABOUT THE WASTE & WHAT TO DO
ROAD
PERMITS
No space on your driveway? We can arrange a road permit for your skip to sit on the public highway, available for 4, 6, 8, and 12 yard skips at an additional charge.
PLASTER
BOARD
Plasterboard is accepted but must be kept separate from general waste due to environmental regulations, so it carries an additional charge. Let us know at booking so we can confirm pricing.
GENERAL
WASTE
General waste covers everyday household and commercial rubbish that isn't hazardous or restricted, including furniture, wood, plastics, cardboard, packaging, and textiles. If you're unsure what can go in, our team is happy to advise before you book.
WOOD
WASTE
We accept most wood waste, from pallets and fence panels to kitchen units and timber offcuts. Treated or contaminated wood may require separate handling, so please let us know in advance if this applies to you.
GARDEN
WASTE
From grass cuttings and hedge trimmings to branches and shrubs, garden waste is accepted in our skips and, where possible, is recycled rather than sent to landfill.
HARDCORE WASTE
Bricks, concrete, rubble, and other heavy inert materials from construction or landscaping projects are classed as hardcore. These materials are recyclable and can be collected separately for efficient processing.
METAL
WASTE
Scrap metal, radiators, pipework, and metal furniture can all go in your skip. This excludes electrical appliances and hazardous or contaminated metals, which need separate disposal.
HAZARDOUS WASTE
While most skip companies can't take hazardous materials like asbestos, paint, or gas cylinders, we can. Through our sister company, B&W Waste Management Services Ltd, we arrange safe, compliant disposal on your behalf.

FAQ'S
What size skip do I need?
The size depends on the amount of waste you have. 2–4 Yard Skip – Small DIY jobs and garden waste. 6 Yard Skip – Kitchen or bathroom renovations. 8 Yard Skip – House clearances and larger building projects. 10–16 Yard Skip – Bulky but lightweight waste from commercial or construction projects. If you're unsure, our team can recommend the right size.
How long can I keep the skip?
Skip hire periods are 7–14 days, but longer hire periods can usually be arranged. Contact us if you need to extend your hire.
Do I need a permit?
You need a permit if the skip will be placed on a public road or pavement. If the skip is on private property, such as a driveway, no permit is required. We can arrange the permit on your behalf. Can I mix different types of waste? Yes, most general household and construction waste can be mixed. However, hazardous waste and certain restricted items must be disposed of separately.
How full can I fill the skip?
Waste must not exceed the top edge of the skip. Overfilled skips cannot legally be transported and may need to be partially emptied before collection.
